Result Report Delivery

The efficient and timely reporting of results is of the utmost importance to the quality of our service. Pathlab provides results to the requesting medical practitioner by either:
  • hard copy
  • electronically via Healthlink
  • when required by the medical practitioner, results will be faxed
  • Abnormal results are usually telephoned or faxed to the requesting medical practitioner.

Hard copies
Our dedicated team prints hard copy reports daily at two hour intervals, between 9:30am and 10pm. Hard copies are posted or delivered by the courier team to the requesting practitioner.

Electronic (HL7) results
Our dedicated team electronically transmits results daily, at two-hour intervals between 9:30am and 10pm via the secure Healthlink system.

Troubleshooting electronic results
Pathlab routinely monitor the electronic transmission of pathology results and we can identify where results have been posted by our system, but not received at their destination. Our dedicated Information Systems specialist will alert you if there appears to be a problem with result transmission.
